The gently sloping white sand also has plenty of rock pools to explore at low tide with shrimps, crabs and squat lobsters in abundance. Gyllyngdune Gardens

Gyllyngdune Gardens

Gyllyngdune Gardens were completed in 1907 with the official opening conducted from the bandstand situated in the gardens. The Princess Pavilion was added in 1910. Adjacent to the Princess Pavilion complex are the upper Gyllyngdune Gardens, consisting of the verandah, original Edwardian bandstand and greenhouse, which are used for garden fetes and afternoon and evening band concerts. National Maritime Museum

National Maritime Museum

Located on the harbour waterfront it is the centrepiece of an international leisure / tourism complex, which wraps around the waterside piazza holding up to 4,000 people, created for concerts, exhibitions and major events and includes restaurants, shops and cafes. Opened in 2002, the National Maritime Museum building has been custom-designed to bring to life the stories of boats, maritime themes and Cornwall's heritage, with an array galleries, shops and restaurants. The South West Coast Path was originally created by coastguards, patrolling the south west peninsula looking out for smugglers.  They literally had to check in every inlet so their cliff top walk was well used and gives us the amazing Path we use today.  The Path has also been used by fishermen looking for shoals of fish and checking the sea conditions.
